WORKSHOP: Gel Plate Magic – Getting Started

If you have been curious to try the Gel Plate or want to explore more ways to use it – now is the time! This workshop will show you some basic gel plate techniques so that you can start creating your own personal and unique painted papers that can be used in journaling, collage or other mixed media projects. This workshop is geared toward those new to the gel plate, those who want to build a painted paper stash or just learn more ways to use their gel plate.

We will create:

• Solid papers
• Papers with patterns with stamps & stencils
• Papers with multiple layers
• Basic image transfers

Material Supplied

• Papers to print on
• Some stencils and paint will be available
• Palette paper, knives
• Paper for creating masks
• Baby wipes for clean up

Materials to Bring:

• Gel Plate*
• Scissors
• Brayer
• Your favorite acrylic paints, stencil
• Flat file or something to take all your painted papers home
• Apron or old shirt

*If you do not have a gel plate, you can select the payment option to include a gel plate that I will provide for your use. If you do not have other materials and want me to supply them, let me know.
